Fort Lauderdale-based hotel branding company Guy Harvey Outpost Resorts and partner Elite Resorts plan to break ground this summer on their first recreational vehicle and cottage resort in Florida called Guy Harvey Outpost Club & Resort Tarpon Springs.
Located in Holiday north of Tarpon Springs in Pasco County, and adjacent to the Anclote River Park, the 66-acre gated outdoor resort community will offer 70 cottages and 270 outfitted paved RV lots for purchase.
"The amenity of choice among today's leisure travel guest, especially those traveling with families, is outdoor recreation and connecting with nature," said Mark Ellert, president of Guy Harvey Outpost. "Florida has fabulous outdoor recreation assets, including world class fishing and watersports. That's the DNA of our brand and Tarpon Springs, making it the perfect spot for us to create this new vision for upscale outdoor resort hospitality."
The company's mission is to inspire traevl to unqiue destinations and promote sustainable tourism. The hotel branding outfit was founded in 2007 by Ellert, and is co-owned by marine artist and conservationist Guy Harvey and two other partners, Bill Shedd and Charles Forman.
The company's eco-friendly outposts typically feature amenities and programs tied to the beach, boating, fishing and diving. Its properties can be found in Islamorada, St. Pete Beach and St. Augustine, as well as in the Bahamas, Cayman Islands, Mexico and Galapagos Islands off Ecuador.
Elite — an RV campground manager and developer — currently manages Citrus Valley and Salt Springs RV resorts in Florida and Strawberry Park in Connecticut. It has sold 150 lots at its Citrus Valley community near Orlando.
The resort near Tarpon Springs will include a 20,000 square-foot clubhouse, pool, an adventure center and nature discovery center with an observation tower. Other amenities include a biking trail, children's camp, exercise center, dog park and high-speed property-wide Wi-Fi. Read more...
