Lionfish Hunters Wanted - Lionfish Derby

Help protect our coastal waters with this yearly event held by www.REEF.org (Reef Environmental Education Foundation). This fun and educational competition which will be held at Black Point Marina in Miami on Saturday, April 28th, 2012 is a one day tournament that will bring awareness to why and how we can be one step closer in making a difference in preserving our Reefs.

Lionfish have invaded our backyard and don't belong here! Native to the tropical Pacific and Indian Ocean these voracious predators are destroying the coral reefs and their population is exploding. Options to manage these fish are limited and a great way to start is by participating in events such as a LionFish Derby. Not only will you get the chance win great prizes, support on going research, but also taste your catch.
