  1. All seafood used must be a sustainable species:

  1. Each recipe must include the name of the dish, readily available ingredients (found in most well-stocked supermarkets), standard U.S. measurements, (such as cups, tablespoons, teaspoons, ounces, or pounds; please do not abbreviate), specific amounts for each ingredient (do not say “to taste” for any ingredient, but list exact amount so reviewers can judge how your recipe will taste), and be written to make 4 servings. Each ingredient must be listed, preferably in order of use, followed by complete, step-by-step cooking instructions, including timing and temperature for any cooked components.

  1. The recipe must be original and not knowingly been previously published or have won another award, and the right to submit the recipe to the Contest must not be restricted in any way. Submission of a recipe is a warranty by the contestant that the contestant owns all copyrights and other intellectual property rights to the recipe and constitutes an assignment of these rights to GHM.


  1. Recipes must be submitted either to OR by mail (PO Box 34075 Pensacola, FL 32507) by August 3, 2015. Late entries will not be considered. Each recipe must be submitted by an individual. There is no limit on the number of recipes you may submit.

  1. To enter by U.S. postal mail, type your name, complete address, and telephone number at the top of an 8 1⁄2 x 11-inch piece of paper.On the same page, type your recipe in accordance with the Contest Guidelines (see above).

  1. In the case of a dispute as to the identity of the entrant, the entry will be accepted or rejected at the absolute discretion of GHM.


  1. The following guidelines will be used to select and judge recipes:

    • Taste (of course!)

    • Ease of preparation

    • Creativity

    • Visual appeal

  1. Phase One: Recipes will be reviewed by GHM to ensure adherence to Contest Guidelines and Rules. GHM, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to make minor edits to recipes.

  1. Phase Two: Recipes passing Phase One will then be reviewed by an independent panel of judges, which will select the top five recipes to move onto the semi-finalists round.

  1. Semi-Finalist Round: A culinary team will prepare the top five recipes for presentation to an independent judging team who will taste the dishes to determine the three best recipes. Each of the five will be filmed for use on

  1. In all phases of the selection and judging of the entries, all decisions of the GHM staff, the judging team and the reviewers are final and binding.

  1. The final three recipes will then be awarded first, second and third prize. The top three recipes will be published in the Winter 2015 issue of GHM
