Going into its sixteenth year, the event is popular for its fantastic offshore bite, record breaking fish, millions in cash payouts, exciting atmosphere and high energy gaming and entertainment at the Golden Nugget Casino.

From its humble beginnings in 1997, the Mississippi Gulf Coast Billfish Classic has grown into one of the premier big-game fishing tournaments in the world. Tournament cash prizes now exceed $1 million dollars and attract the top captains and crews in the sport. Along the way, five state records have been broken and the Classic still holds the Gulf of Mexico record for blue marlin, a 1,054.6-pound behemoth landed by Barry Carr aboard Sea Wolff in 2002.

The 2017 edition offers a week’s worth of fabulous food, fun and the chance to test your skills and strength against the biggest, baddest brawlers in the ocean.
