Celebrate the second annual Lionfish Removal and Awareness Day with us! We removed 2,975 lionfish at our first event in 2015. Thanks to all who participated! Let’s see how many MORE lionfish we can remove from Florida waters in one weekend.
Lionfish Removal and Awareness Day is the first Saturday after Mother’s Day each year (May 14, 2016).
Participants who report their lionfish on May 14 will be eligible for prizes!
Not a diver? Join us for our Lionfish Removal and Awareness Day festival in Pensacola or drop by any participating event occurring statewide and see what lionfish removal is all about.
The Lionfish Removal and Awareness Day event is free and will include various activities such as:
- Lionfish tastings
- Fillet demonstrations
- Family activities
